Tank level sensor is a liquid level measuring instrument specially designed for water tanks, storage tanks and various pipelines. Since different application sites have different operating conditions, correctly installing the pipeline level switch is the key to ensuring stable operation of the instrument.

In order to help users install the liquid level switch correctly, the following are the installation and precautions for pipe-mounted liquid level switches:

1. Things to know before installation

Before installation, please reconfirm whether the instrument model installed with the liquid level switch in the pipeline or water tank meets the on-site working conditions, such as process pressure, process temperature, chemical properties of the medium, etc., to ensure that the instrument works normally. It can be used normally after installation.

2. Installation method

Typically, pipe-mounted level switches can be installed in any position as required and can be installed horizontally, vertically, or tilted. However, when the measured medium has viscosity, in order to reduce or avoid the phenomenon of material hanging, please install the instrument vertically.

3. Installation direction

During installation, ensure that the fork surface is consistent with the direction of liquid lifting or flow to avoid measurement errors caused by the resistance of suspended materials or media to the fork body of the liquid level switch installed in the pipeline. Please refer to the picture below for installation details.

4. Install away from the feed inlet

According to the working principle of the tank level sensor, the tuning fork body (probe) is the key component of the level switch. In order to prevent the fork body from being damaged due to improper installation and ensure the normal operation of the instrument, it is crucial to select the installation position of the pipeline liquid level switch. When selecting the installation position of the liquid level switch, it should be installed away from the feed port. Installation at the feed port may cause measurement errors or even damage the instrument.

5. When installing in a pressure/vacuum environment

For vessels or pipes with overpressure, underpressure or even vacuum, the sealing integrity of the process connections must be ensured. Before installing a level switch in a pipeline, confirm that the sealing material meets the on-site process temperature and pressure requirements.

6. Take moisture-proof measures

When the tank level sensor is installed outdoors or in a humid environment, rain and condensation may flow down such as rain or condensation. Therefore, before connecting the cable, bend it and lead it downward to prevent water or moisture from entering the instrument.
