Installation Method And Measurement Characteristics Of Magnetostrictive Liquid Level Meter

In all walks of life, we can use the liquid level meter everywhere, of which the most used should be the magnetostrictive liquid level meter. Let's take a look at the installation method and measurement characteristics of the magnetostrictive liquid level meter together! First of all, let's talk about the principle of magnetostrictive level meter!
The magnetostrictive level meter is composed of stainless steel (measuring rod), magnetostrictive line (sensitive element - waveguide line), removable float (with permanent magnet) and other parts. When the measuring rod magnetostrictive level meter is working, the circuit part will excite the pulse current on the waveguide wire. When the current propagates along the waveguide wire, the pulse current magnet field will be generated around the waveguide wire. A float is provided outside the measuring rod of the magnetostrictive level meter, which can move up and down along the measuring rod as the liquid level changes. Inside the float is a set of permanent magnetic rings. When the pulsed magnetic ring magnetic field current magnetic field meets the magnetic ring magnetic field generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes. The pulsed current magnetic field changes so that the guide wave filament made of magnetostrictive material generates a torsion wave pulse along the waveguide filament at the position where the float is located. By measuring the time difference between the pulse current and the torsion wave, the position of the float, that is, the liquid surface, can be precisely determined. The meter consists of a circuit unit, a set of explosion-proof housing and rod sensing elements, and the sensor is available in a variety of models.
Installation of magnetostrictive level meter:
A. Installed away from vibration, corrosive air and can cause mechanical damage, in order to facilitate debugging, the instrument should be installed in a place with an operating platform or similar platform. The product should be installed vertically, and the installation slope should not be greater than 5 degrees. The ambient temperature is between -40℃ and 120℃. The installation area must have a lightning protection device.
b. When installing, it must be ensured that the sensor float does not touch the container wall (or installation pipe), and the float is flexible up and down, the installation thread is firmly connected to the container, and the electrical apparatus is in good contact. For large scale or stirring applications, the sensor needs to be supported or anchored to keep the probe vertical.
c. The ripple of the 24VDC power supply must not exceed 50mV. The power ground should be connected to the standard ground or standard instrument ground, not to the power ground.
The characteristics of magnetostrictive level gauge for tank level measurement:
1. Strong reliability: Because the magnetostrictive level meter adopts the waveguide principle, there is no mechanical moving part, so there is no friction and no wear. The whole converter is enclosed in stainless steel tube, and the measuring medium is non-contact, the sensor works reliably and has a long life.
2. High accuracy: Because the magnetostrictive level meter works with the waveguide pulse, the measured displacement is determined by measuring the time of the start pulse and the end pulse in the work, so the measurement accuracy is high, and the resolution is better than 0.01%FS, which is difficult to achieve the accuracy with other sensors.
3. Good safety: Magnetostrictive level meter has high explosion-proof performance, intrinsic safety and explosion-proof, safe to use, especially suitable for the measurement of chemical raw materials and flammable liquids. It is not necessary to open the lid during measurement to avoid the insecurity of manual measurement.
4. The magnetostrictive level meter is easy to install and maintain: the magnetostrictive level meter is generally installed through the existing pipe port on the top of the tank, especially for the installation of underground storage tanks and storage tanks that have been put into operation, and can not affect normal production during the installation process.
5. Easy to automate the system: the secondary instrument of the magnetostrictive level meter uses the standard output signal, which is easy for the microcomputer to process the signal, easy to realize the networking work, and improve the automation of the entire measurement system.
