Working principle: The structure part of the magnetostrictive level sensor is composed of stainless steel tube (measuring rod), magnetostrictive line (waveguide wire), movable float (with permanent magnet) and other parts. When the sensor is working, the circuit part will excite a pulse current on the waveguide wire, and the current will propagate along the waveguide wire and generate a pulsed electromagnetic field around the waveguide wire. A float is provided outside the sensor measuring rod, which can move up and down along the measuring rod as the liquid level changes. Inside the float is a set of permanent magnetic rings. When the pulsed current magnetic field meets the magnetic ring magnetic field generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes so that the waveguide wire made of magnetostrictive material generates a torsional wave pulse at the location of the float, which is transmitted back along the waveguide wire at a fixed speed and detected by the detection mechanism. By measuring the time difference between the pulse current and the torsion wave, the position of the float, that is, the position of the liquid surface, can be precisely determined.
Advantages of magnetostrictive level meter:
1, the accuracy of the magnetostrictive level meter can reach 1mm, which can be used for the measurement of clean liquid level with high accuracy requirements.
2, it can be used to measure the interface position between two different liquids.
3, the biggest advantage of magnetostrictive level meter is that its resolution is very high, can reach the micron level.
4, can be calculated according to the electronic circuit design volume.
5, the magnetostrictive level meter is very cost-effective, the display screen has current, temperature, interface display, is one of the most used products on the gas station metering tank.
Disadvantages of magnetostrictive level meter:
1, magnetostrictive level meter anti-interference is slightly poor, power plants and other strong magnetic radiation places are not recommended to use.
2, must be contact use, magnetostrictive protection tube must be in contact with liquid.
3, because the float is in direct contact with the medium, magnetostriction can not measure the viscous medium.
