Installation of radar level gauge

In accordance with 6.0.7 of the petrochemical instrument installation design Specification (SH/T 3104-2000), the installation requirements for ultrasonic and microwave (radar) liquid (material) level meters are as follows:

fm-continuous-wave-radar-level-meterc4dadebc-7e15-453e-95ca-fbf809fb570e

(1) When measuring liquid level, it is appropriate to detect and install vertically downwards;

(2) In the event of measuring the material level, the microwave beam should be pointed at the discharge port at the bottom of the bin;

(3) The distance between the microwave beam center and the container wall should be greater than the beam radius at the lowest liquid (material) position calculated from the beam Angle and measurement range;

(4) The beam path of the microwave should avoid the spray range of the container feed beam;

(5) The microwave beam path should avoid stirrers and other obstacles.

The installation of microwave liquid (material) level meter should also meet the requirements of the manufacturer.

In addition, floating-top tanks and spherical tanks with observation tubes usually use waveguides, mainly to eliminate the interference effect of multiple echoes that may be induced by the shape of the container, or to increase the reflected echo energy when measuring media with low relative dielectric constants. When installed, the liquid level gauge should be located in the center of the waveguide tube, and the weld of the waveguide tube should be treated to be smooth without burrs, and remove rust or impurities to ensure measurement accuracy.

There are many kinds of liquid level measuring instruments, and each measuring method has its own characteristics and pertinence. Radar level meter can meet certain measurement requirements in liquid level measurement, its working performance is stable and reliable, easy to operate and safe, strong anti-interference ability, can measure more media, can achieve high measurement accuracy, so radar level meter will inevitably be widely used in the petrochemical industry with its characteristics and advantages. But radar level meter also has its limitations, such as the high price, the relative dielectric constant of the medium has a certain requirement. Therefore, when selecting, it should be comprehensively considered in accordance with the needs of actual application occasions, engineering project characteristics, design conditions and costs, etc., to ensure economic applicability, safety and reliability.
