The level transmitter magnetostrictive is a high-precision measuring instrument that performs continuous level and interface measurements and provides an analog signal output for monitoring and control. It is composed of stainless steel tube (measuring rod), magnetostrictive wire (waveguide wire), movable float (with permanent magnet inside) and other components. In addition to the characteristics of analog output, this liquid level meter has greater flexibility in use and stronger environmental applicability due to the expansion of functions. It is mainly suitable for industrial measurement and control of liquid levels in various liquid tanks such as petroleum, chemical raw material storage, industrial processes, biochemistry, medicine, food and beverages, tank area management, underground inventory of gas stations, etc. It also monitors dam levels, reservoir levels and wastewater treatment.

Working principle

The structural part of Level transmitter magnetostrictive (magnetostrictive float oil level sensor) is composed of stainless steel tube (measuring rod), magnetostrictive wire (waveguide wire), movable float (with permanent magnet inside) and other components, as shown in the figure middle.

When the level transmitter magnetostrictive works, the circuit part will excite a pulse current on the waveguide wire. When the current propagates along the waveguide wire, a pulse electromagnetic field will be generated around the waveguide wire. A float is installed on the outside of its measuring rod, and the float can move up and down along the measuring rod as the liquid level changes. There is a set of permanent magnet rings inside the float. When the pulse current magnetic field meets the magnetic ring magnetic field generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes, causing the waveguide wire made of magnetostrictive material to generate a torsional wave pulse at the position of the float. The pulse travels back along the waveguide wire at a fixed speed and is detected by the detection mechanism. By measuring the time difference between the pulse current and the torsional wave, the position of the float, that is, the position of the liquid level, can be accurately determined. It can also be used to measure the boundary between two different liquids. Explosion-proof design, suitable for hazardous occasions, intelligent electronic circuit design can calculate the volume; the only movable part is the float, and the maintenance cost is extremely low.
